I dedicate this page to all stay at home mom’s with my deepest respect for all that you do.
When my children were very small both of them were extremely ill. My husband and I had to take turns taking time off work so we would not get fired. When my son was born I became a stay at home mom, and began working harder than I ever did when I worked outside of my home.
About 5 years after my son was born I decided to take a part time, kick around job, at Smith’s bakery department. I loved it! I enjoyed everything about the bakery, the people I worked with, the customers, the smell, everything. Two weeks before Christmas our entire crew became ill, and there were only four of us able to work. The manager of the store asked me to work with the cake decorator and she would train me. I laughed!! During my training and thereafter I felt my passion for the first time in my life! After Christmas, I was offered a permanent position as a cake decorator, and I took it. I worked with Smiths for about 2 years. After I resigned, the customers were coming in and insisting that I decorate their cake.
So the girls on the counter would give them my phone number. They baked their cakes brought them to me and I would decorate them. So actually my customers taught me my passion, thank you all.
This passion has filled every fiber of my being for the last 15 years. I get up each day filled with gratitude for all the events that lead me to “CAKES ON THE MOVE.” There is a story about the name of my business, you can read it in the News article if you wish. Click on the link below.
